Maxims of Ali

Uncategorized 2008/03/09 14:58
Entrust your friend with anything but your secrets.
He/She who keeps not the secrets of his own will not keep that of the others.
He/She who confides his secrets to others is a disgrace to himself.
Be honest and sincere in your words and deeds.
He/She who is just in his words will be glorified.
Hardship brings prosperity; Honesty adorns the utterance.
Truth is the straightest path and knowledge is the best guide.
A generous man's promise is cash in one's pocket.
Apologize when you do wrong; Forgive those who do you wrong.
An advice given in public is a blame.
He/She who has no compassion will not be sympathized.
The unwisest is one who considers himself the wisest.
Forgive the one who seeks your pardon.
Silence answers most of the questions.
Any novelty has its own value; whereas  old friendship is valued the most.
Mind not who the speaker is; Mind what he is saying.
The best of all men is he who is most useful to the people.

Good... very good. Yes, that's true.
But you said, an advice given in public is a blame. What is that mean?
An advice which given to us, as long as the advice is true and good for us, I think it's very useful, not a blame.

Remember that I never said these valuable Maxims, I do?
I'm sure u don't know who is Imam Ali, a great philosopher and thinker...

      What he meant?
Giving advice in public is good when no one around u did sth wrong, bad, or offense and nobody is aimed even if all the advises r appropriate and definitely true. It's like a precaution when all are mentioned but no one did sth wrong, but think that u did sth wrong or offense and u r ashamed & become regreted, then someone advise u in public.
Is it useful or is like a blame?!?!?
Is it causes more and more shame & offenses for u or not?!?!?
In these situations, even if the advise is true, is it blame or not?!?!?
Now u wish that person advise u in private or public?!?!?
      --------------------------
I wish I make u understand what the statement means...

Ok, I understand what you mean.
Like you said, I'll be shamed if advise was given in public or if he/she give me advise with louder voice or shouted (except if I'm in my family), even though I'll be understand and that advise is useful for me.
    Thanx for your comment.
